Learning Program

Our Learning Program is based on the Reggio Emilia Education.

The Curriculum is project oriented.

The Educational Child Care Program is divided in two age groups.

Our Toddler Learning Program is for the children ages 12 month to 35month and

our Preschool Learning program focuses on the children ages 3 to 5 years.

Both programs are not only focusing on the readiness for school, but on the development of the whole child. We are especially focusing on developing social skills, physical fitness and mental readiness.

The children will learn to have an open mind.

They will learn early, how choice and consequences are connected.

We are offering the children a chance to find their likes and dislikes, their talents and their weaknesses.

They will be enabled to speak their mind openly, to find out their individuality and the importance of friendship.

We offer the children a rich environment, which gives them the chance to explore things for themselves.

Morning meetings gives them time to sing songs, listen to stories and to talk about ideas, projects and interests.

To see the child as an individual person is key to our education.

"Small Group Work" and "One On One Work" with children is very important to us.

Our projects will expose them to cooking and baking, music, literature (incl. the Bible), letter and number projects (incl. writing your name), nature, outdoor projects, arts and crafts (e.g. working with clay or wood), physical challenges, games and healthy competition.

All these different projects will teach the children:

·        To search for things, structures and processes of the world around them

·        To build relationships to objects (e.g. towards a plant, or a building) and to phenomena (e.g. Birth, as a celebration of the circle of a year) and to give them meaning

·        To create relationships between the inner world (e.g. memories, imaginations, fantasies and judgment) and the outer world (e.g. inventions, observations and other information)

·        To start develop or to strengthen relationships between peoples (e.g. thru sharing activities, exchanges or gifts)

·        To develop new talents and skills

·        To use  different resources:

o       to read, to write and to communicate e.g. books, lexicons, computers with simple programs

o       to make music with elementary instruments e.g. rhythm sticks, drums and bells or instruments like flute, guitar or piano

o       to build e.g. Lego’s, Duplo’s, wooden blocks or natural building equipment like rocks, marvels or mosaic tiles

o       to experiment e.g. woodshop table, water table or other wet areas

o       for roll play or drama e.g. dress up area, lamps to producing shadow, linen, mirrors, hand puppets or stick puppets

o       to paint, create or form things e.g. easels, brushes, paint, display areas, hammers, nails, screwdrivers, scissors, fabrics or scrapers and rolls for working with clay

The children have the choice to become part of projects, or not to.

You don't have to worry if your child decides not to become part of a project or two, because our teachers are trained and will make sure that your child receives every possible source to meet his or her needs to become ready for the next steps in life.

Little chores will help develop independency and pride of accomplishment.

We teach the children that everyone deserves respect and that helping each other is sometimes a challenge, but also what God wants from us.

Every child will be able to celebrate his or her birthday in a special way.

The Before and After School Program will help children to have an open mind.

Short afternoon meetings will give the children the chance to talk about their day, about ideas for project and activities or just to discuss certain objects.

We offer time to relax from school in different ways. Reading, arts and crafts, music, games, group and outdoor activities are just some of these.

We are focusing on the needs of the individual child.

Our projects will help the children to find their likes and dislikes, their talents and their weaknesses.

We will offer supervised homework time. Students have the chance to get help, when they have problems, but we are not going to do their homework. We assist.

Healthy snacks and drinks will be provided.

We provide also service for snow days and summer vacation time. Prices may vary from regular program cost.
